Menswear

Relaxed jeans

Loose-fit styles continue to arrive WoW as a more relaxed aesthetic becomes the norm for denim. Tapered legs, which feature a wider fit above the knee but a narrower ankle, keep this silhouette widely accessible. This can also be paired with an elastic waist for added lounge appeal.

Bomber jackets

Retailers have made a clear shift to investing in warmer options. Zara's 100% leather bomber with faux-fur collar comes in at £159, while Pull & Bear's faux leather varsity jacket is a more accessible £49.99. Leather fabrications are a great way to keep Letterman styles in play during colder months.

Womenswear

Luxe wool

As the loungewear trend continues, cashmere and merino are increasingly being used by high street brands to drive value. Zara UK was a notable investor this week, introducing a range of 17 cashmere pieces, spanning £19.99 for a pair of socks to £119.00 for a high neck sweater.

Checks

Checks were a top pattern this week, ranging from faithful plaids and ginghams, while houndstooth is the print to get behind now - it's been trending on Instagram for the past two weeks, signaling its importance. The SS21 Vintage Femme theme will further fuel this trend, alongside preppy check bouclé tweed jackets and cardigans - already showing backing from River Island and NA-KD.

Hair accessories

Zara's recent skiwear drop brought several fleece and shearling headbands, some emblazoned with slogans including "snow". These more practical, thermal additions contrasted with occasionwear appropriate braided and embellished Alice bands.

Padded jackets

As part of Uniqlo's collaboration with Finnish designer Marimekko, the bold printed jackets feature a matching printed bag that allows for quick storage. The arrivals form part of a collection that sees several mini-me options for mother and daughter, including a longline version of the children's cropped puffer.
